Atharvaveda and Samaveda commentator and author of many famous books, revered Pandit Vishwanath Vidyalankar Vidyamartand was a penetrating scholar of Vedic literature. He was educated in the sacred place of old Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar, where he attained a wide range of disciplines under Mahatma Munshiram (later Swami Shraddhanand Sanyasi). He was among the first graduates of Gurukul Kangri. Swami Dayanand Saraswati was considered a master in attaining the sanctity of the Vedas, and his own hard work was done by taking help from his texts and from his Vedbhasya, because scholars teaching Vedas were not available by the method of Swami Dayanand at that time. Apart from the Vedas, Shri Panditji was also a good scholar of Indian and Western philosophy, chemistry, astrology, english etc.
